Overnight Oats

Make as many or a few servings as desired. It’s fun to line up the containers and add the ingredients one at a time–like an assembly line.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup milk or water
  • 1 Tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 generous Tablespoon vanilla yogurt (optional)
  1. ADD all ingredients to a small bowl or jar.
  2. WHISK or use a fork to combine ingredients.
  3. COVER and refrigerate overnight.
  4. ADD toppings and more milk if desired.
  5. CONFIDENCE GAINED!

OPTIONAL STIR-INS

  • Fresh fruit
  • Frozen fruit (frozen berries can be slow-thawed by adding them to the top of the oat mixture before refrigerating)
  • Jam
  • Flavored syrup (maple, fruit, caramel syrup)
  • Dried fruit (raisins, raisins, coconut)
  • Nuts/seeds
  • Peanut butter
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Cocoa, unsweetened or even hot chocolate mix
  • Honey
  • Brown sugar
  • Pumpkin puree
  • Vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg
Mix the oatmeal up in a container that works for you. Everything is better in a jar! A mason jar makes a perfect to-go. Use a fork to mix the ingredients if a whisk does not fit in your container.
