A nice change from Gatorade. Adapted from a recipe shared by one of my favorite professors at Weber State University, Julie Hansen, M.S.,R.D.N.
Quart
- 5 Tablespoons sugar
- 4 cups water
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- Lemon zest (zest the lemon before squeezing if using fresh lemon)
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice (fresh or preserved)
Gallon
- 1-1/4 cups sugar
- 16 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Lemon zest (zest the lemon before squeezing if using fresh lemon)
- 1/2 cup lemon juice (fresh or preserved)
STIR and refrigerate–it tastes better if it sits a bit.
