INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups milk
- 4 large or 6 small dates with pits removed (find in the produce or snack section of the store)
- 1 ½ to 2 cups spinach (fresh or frozen)
- 2 or 3 medium size peeled carrots
- 3 heaping Tablespoons baking cocoa (natural or Dutch-processed)
- ½ cup raw quick-cooking or regular oats
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1-1/2 to 2 frozen bananas
INSTRUCTIONS
- COMBINE all the smoothie ingredients except the banana in the blender.
- BEGIN on low setting and increase speed to high. Blend until smooth.
- ADD the bananas and blend again.
- BLEND or HAND-STIR in any add-ins–depending on desired texture.
ADD-INS
- Almond extract
- Small bunch of fresh mint or mint extract
- Toasted nuts
- Toasted or regular coconut
- Peanut butter
