Baked Tostadas

Cooking Time: 5-7 minutes
TOTAL TIME: 12 minutes
  • Corn tortillas or corn & wheat flour combination tortillas
  • Canola or vegetable oil
  • Salt (get as fancy as you want: popcorn for a fine grain, kosher for course or regular table salt)
  1. PREHEAT oven to 450º.
  2. LIGHTLY brush both sides of tortillas with oil.
  3. SPRINKLE with tortillas with salt.
  4. PLACE tortillas in a single layer on baking sheets.
  5. LAY an upside down wire rack (cooling rack) on the tortillas to keep them flat while they bake.
  6. BAKE for 5-7 minutes. Two pans may be baked at a time. Rotate the pans as needed.

down a few times with a spatula. Contact with the heated pan will flatten them out.
